Micklus (Dr. Sam) in 1978. It originated from the idea of encouraging students
to solve problems creatively and innovatively. The orientation session
introduced students to the core objectives of OOTM, emphasizing its alignment
with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and
experiential learning. The program is designed to nurture divergent,
independent thinking and real-life problem-solving skills. Students were
introduced to a wide variety of challenges, ranging from designing mechanical
devices to creating artistic interpretations of literary works.
Key
elements discussed during the session included:
- Open-ended
problem-solving:
Students will be tasked with challenges that do not have a single correct
answer, allowing for creativity and multiple approaches to solutions.
- Team-based
learning:
Collaboration is at the heart of OOTM, where students will work in teams
to brainstorm and implement their ideas.
- Critical
and creative thinking:
The focus is on developing the ability to think outside the box,
encouraging students to explore creative solutions and take calculated
risks.
- Global
Exposure: The
opportunity to interact and compete with students from across the globe,
providing a broader understanding of diverse perspectives and
problem-solving approaches.
The
OOTM program is instrumental in honing key skills such as communication,
teamwork, creativity, and analytical thinking. It prepares students not just
for academic success but also for real-world challenges by encouraging them to
think creatively and collaboratively.

A Bagless Day was organised by the Middle Stage at Ahlcon International School on May 11, 2023, to foster creativity and add joy to the curriculum. Students from classes 6 to 8 participated in the Manthan session, which focused on socioemotional learning and mental health. The principles of leadership, compassion, and politeness were introduced using educational videos and hands-on activities like creating bookmarks and posters.
To educate the students on how to reduce or reuse the garbage produced on a daily basis, a session on zero waste management was given.
To make the day fulfilled, students had a class party wherein they not only relished their homecooked food but also shared it happily with their classmates. A talent show was also conducted in the respective classes which helped the students to showcase the unique aspect of their personality.
The day concluded with an interactive session with School Advisor, Dr. Ashok Pandey. Students were taught the path to becoming a good human being by imbibing the virtues of humility, gratitude, and responsibility.
It was a day of fun replete with learning for life.

Celebrating the Brilliant Stars of Ahlcon- Appreciation Day
Nothing is more fulfilling and thrilling than watching kids overcome obstacles and accomplish their objectives. Since celebrations are more than just happy occasions, they may help students go forward in their study and maintain their motivation. Celebrating our kids' accomplishments is a fantastic approach to support their growth and development. On May 10, 2023, Ahlcon International School had its appreciation day. Those who displayed distinction in many fields received medals and certificates of merit.
The event was graced by the dynamic presence of the school’s principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav; vice principal, Mr. Puneet Duggal; headmistress of the middle stage, Ms. Sunanda S. Kumar; headmistress of the preparatory stage, Ms. Kavita Shah; HM of the foundation stage, Ms. Pooja Shandilya; all faculty members; and ever enthusiastic ahlconites. The programme commenced with a motivating thought followed by a dance invoking the Divine’s blessings.
The felicitations began with the announcement of the academic achievers of Classes 6, 7, and 8. The astounding scores secured by students over a wide range of subjects made their teachers proud of their outstanding performances. The big list of achievers spoke volumes about the hard work and determination of our persevering students to reach great heights.
The felicitations for the students who overcame all obstacles and let their marks speak of their capabilities and talents were for the students with FULL ATTENDANCE for classes 6, 7, and 8 in session 2022-2023. These students augmented the image of Ahlconites as they strived for fitness and committed themselves to scholarly duties.
The next categories of awards were for excellence in co-scholastics and sports, where the high-fliers were crowned with trophies and certificates for their standout performances. The main attractions of the day were the Samaritan Award won by Saanvi Shekhar of class 8 E, the Principal’s Steady Achievement Award won by Harshi Kumari of class 8 E, and the Ace Performer Award of Session 2022–23 won by Reva Upadhyay of class 8 E and Nimish Mahajan of class 8 E.
A word of praise to the recipients by the Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav, were the added incentives, and they motivated students to become good human beings and utilise all their knowledge and talent for the betterment of society. Sharing his secret of success, he encouraged students to put their mind, heart, and intellect into even the smallest of acts and express their gratitude to each one who extended their support in their every venture. He extended his appreciation to all the teachers and esteemed parents who support and guide students in every venture.
The thoughts of Mr. Puneet Duggal, Vice Principal, resonated with those of the principal, sir. He appreciated the winners and urged them to express their gratitude to everyone in their success stories. He appealed to all the students to walk that extra mile to be the star performers.
Headmistress, Ms. Sunanda S. Kumar’s inspirational words made the victory of all the dynamic achievers even more profound and deserving. She acknowledged the efforts of every achiever and praised the entire team of teachers for putting up the show.
The Appreciation Day celebrations came to an end with positive notes etched into memories and serving as a reminder to achieve goals through hard work, grit, and being grateful to each one who helped in achieving all the milestones in life.

‘World's Largest Climate Clock Assembly and Display’ Event - Report
On April 22, 2023, Ahlcon International School participated in the 'World's Largest Climate Clock Assembly and Display Event,' which took place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India, on the occasion of Earth Day. The event was attended by students from classes VI to XII, accompanied by Ms. Seema Jaiswal (Middle Stage) and Ms. Navleen Chopra (Senior Stage).
The event was organized by the Energy Swaraj Foundation in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission - Niti Aayog and the All India Council for Technical Education to raise awareness about the urgency of addressing climate change and its impacts on the planet. It emphasized the need for immediate action to mitigate the effects of climate change and urged attendees to take action for climate correction and create a better world for themselves and future generations.
The highlight of the event was the assembly of a climate clock using a simple climate clock kit provided by the foundation. The digital clocks were ticking simultaneously, showing a figure of six years, 30 days, and just over 22 hours before the planet reaches the 1.5°C threshold based on current emission projections for global warming. The event made history and successfully attempted to break a world record. Many organizations, institutions, and individuals took part in this mega event. Students were awarded certificates of appreciation for their enthusiastic participation.
The event brought together a diverse range of stakeholders to raise awareness about the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the impacts of climate change. It was a significant step towards mobilizing people worldwide to take action on climate change and build a sustainable future.
The Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav, Vice Principal, Mr. Puneet Duggal, and Ms. Sunanda S Kumar played a crucial role in leading initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and encouraging student involvement in such activities. The school is setting an excellent example of responsible leadership. By engaging students in such events and activities, the school is preparing them to become responsible and environmentally conscious citizens of the future.

Nature Walk to Okhla Bird Sanctuary on World’s Wetland Day
On the occasion of world’s wetland day on 2nd February 2023 , our school organized a nature walk to the famous Okhla Bird Sanctuary, it was led by our teachers Ms. Namita Bhagat and Mr. Amit Jaiswal, our guides were Mr. Animesh Kapoor, Mr. Rakesh Khatri and Mr. Nipun Kaushik, who are all eminent environmentalists.
It was a lovely winter day, the sun was shining high, and the mellow breeze set the mood for an ideal walk. And so there we were, the inquisitive students of Ahlcon International School, in the beautiful landscape of the Okhla Bird Sanctuary, for an informative walk. The walk started under the boughs of Peepal, Banyan, Keekar, and Palm trees, where we saw the unique relationship between a peepal tree and a palm tree. The peepal tree had enclosed the palm tree’s bark in its grasp and had wound itself around it like a thick vine. We were informed by our guide and our teachers that the Peepal tree was actually extracting nutrients from the Palm tree and restricting its growth. After marvelling at this phenomena, we headed forward and found ourselves surrounded by a crowd of Napier grass. Thelow lying water in which the Napier grass grew also contained several water lilies, which we observed as we were crossing the wooden bridge. On the other side of the bridge lay a beautiful sight- Napier grass and vegetation stretched across as far as the eye could see. Contrasting against the bright blue sky, the sanctuary truly looked likea green desert.
Low lying water surrounded the paths we walked on and we observed the fresh green algae as we walked in the direction of a bird lookout. Our guide was gracious enough to provide us with high-power binoculars which areespecially used for bird watching. We stepped on to the tall lookout in groups of six and took the binoculars. The view from the lookout was beyond breathtaking, the greenery framed the blue expanse of the pond and looked surreal. The ducks swam swiftly in the water and we watched a flock move around gracefully through the binoculars. The moment was made perfect with the soft sounds of water splashing around and the calls of ducks and the otheranimals nearby. The breeze was just perfect, and the air that filled our lungs felt nothing like the polluted air of metropolitan Delhi. After we all were done with admiring the scenery, we walked through the sanctuary, attentively listening to our guide and trying to spot birds and other creatures. We saw a few nilgais munching on fresh grass and some of us clicked their pictures. Moving on, we took a long walk through the sanctuary on a newly built road. We were greeted by unique species of birds, squirrels and some goats on our way. We stopped to rest and played a most entertaining guessing game. Through this game, we learnt a lot about owls, frogs, and snakes. On our way back, we admired and appreciated the lovely Okhla Bird Sanctuary before stepping back into our bus.
It was truly a magnificent learning experience for all the enthusiastic students and we learnt more about nature than we ever could from textbooks. A first- hand experience was exactly what we needed in order to understand theimportance of sanctuaries and the conservation of wildlife.
Gratitude to our principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav, H.M Senior School, Mr. Puneet Duggal and AHM Ms. Sunanda Kumar for giving students this opportunity where learning was fun.

KRUU PROJECT REPORT
KRUU came up as a platform for students to connect through Project- Led Learning and allowing us to collaborate and solve tasks through well curated projects.
As a part of our kruu project, based on the topic, "History of Geography a project was undertaken which was based on a story of a girl named Ritu. She was travelling to Bombay with her parents where they were to visit the famous places of Bombay. After a couple of days, she wondered what fun it would have been if she had a local friend who could take her to the hidden treasures of Bombay.
The project provided an opportunity to explore some new places with our task group. Our first task was to find the fun places in our neighbourhood or any city along with our groupmates. We had to create a list of places that would be worth exploring with our peers and we decided to explore the historical places in Uttar Pradesh like Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Varanasi and many more. In worksheet 2 we had to identify the theme for UP and curate the itinerary for a marvellous experience for our peers. In worksheet 3 we had to prepare the list of places that could be included in our itinerary with their historical and social contexts. The final part was to create a map digitally or a 3d model of the research done.
We extend our deep gratitude to our esteemed Principal sir, Mr. Sanjay Yadav, under whose flagship this project was taken up to enhance our critical thinking and creative intelligence. Thanks to Ms. Tarannum Bhasin, the coordinator of this project and Ms. Manju Garg our English teacher for their constant guidance in completing the project.

The future of any country depends upon its students. A country’s name and fame rest on the educated youth. In other words, the students are the real treasure of any country. If the power of young men or students is directed to constructive purposes, the whole nation will move to all round development. So it is essential that students must know about their duties.
At Ahlcon International, a strong emphasis is laid on Quality Education. Our Director Dr. Ashok Pandey and Principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav are our visionaries have always believed in educating students for life and preparing them to be better, more responsible citizen.
With this aim in mind, a video on “Bharat- What makes us a nation?” was shown to the students and a discussion on the topic was done in the classes 6th-8th on 25th April 2022. Total 450 students along with 18 teachers were involved in the activity. In the video, Kiran Bedi engages Shri Sadhguru on the issue of what holds Bharat together as a nation, despite being ethnically and culturally so diverse. Sadhguru explained that what we know as India or Bharat varsh has existed for over 8,000-10,000 years. Though it was divided into various political entities, it is the fundamental spiritual longing in people which has kept India together for so long.
The students were engaged in the discussion on the following key points:
- What do they understand by nation and nationalism?
- Why do we call our country ‘Motherland’ and not ‘Fatherland’?
- How did ‘Bharat’ become ‘India’?
- What things constitute the identity of a nation?
- What makes us one despite of all the diversities?
It was a great way for students and teachers to share their thoughts and reflect upon the idea of ‘nation-building’. The activity inculcated a feeling of belongingness and respect for our culture among the students.

CHARCHA ON PARENTING: REPORT
‘It is the sunlight of parental love and encouragement that enables a child to bloom like a precious flower.’
In the light of the above mentioned quote, Ahlcon International school invited Mr. Sivaram Raghavan for a brilliant session ‘Charcha on Parenting’ on 23rd April 2022.
Mr. Raghavan in his address said that parenting is a universal and all-season job that demands a world of energy and patience. He said that kids are great observers, and one must master this art of creating proper balance at home with kids. Parents must deal with their children tactfully besides being polite. He guided parents on the practices a parent must follow, to prevent the child from indulging in bad behaviour. Emphasising on respect, he said a parent must show respect to his/her own parents and treat them with love and affection, so that children learn to respect elders at home. The value system for children is developed at home consisting of 3 Cs- Care, Caution, and Courage.
Ms. Priya Jain, mother of Ronak Jain expressed her views on the importance of grandparents and values of sharing and caring for each other as these qualities bring a feeling of belongingness and responsibilities among children.
Mr. Sivaram also stated that children should be aware of failures faced besides the success stories in the family He advised parents to be friendly with their kids, but not become a ‘friend’. An environment must be set where the child trusts his parents and can share his problems. Parents need to know the extent of being friendly and where to draw a line to be drawn.
Mr. Sanjay Yadav, Principal of Ahlcon International School, shared some guiding principles of being an effective parent. He appreciated Mr. Sivaram’s new book “STOP, LOOK, GO Parenting the changing norms, then and now” and said it is a must read for all parents. SACHHI SAHELI SESSION
Date -24.02.2022
An inspiring session by Ms. Rachna Sudheen ,Director of i2u foundation and Joint Secretary at NGO Sachhi Saheli was held on 24th February 2022 at Ahlcon International School in Auditorium at 10 am. The session was being conducted both offline and online mode for girls. It was a one-hour session and the topic was on menstruation and personal hygiene. In the beginning of the session, there was a little awkwardness in the voices of the girls but after some time, all were very open to the mam. She explained very clearly and without hesitation why and how the periods come and what healthy diet should they eat. She told girls in detail about periods and when to consult a doctor. Myths based on periods were discussed .Several queries related to problem were discussed .
Feedback from student: Today for the first time, she made us felt having periods is a proud thing for girls. But moreover, the girl's doubts are clear, we should take the initiative to teach the boys of Ahlcon International what is menstruation. So, no girl has to face any hesitation while talking to boys about periods. We should spread awareness and usually, we are afraid to talk about it in public, until the session today .I too thought talking about it is embarrassing but now ma’am changed my insight and view of looking at things. I felt embarrassed in the chemist shop while asking for pads and when they wrap it up in multiple things, it is more awkward for you. Ma’am told us to be very bold about it and not fear what they will think. Now I don't care what boys will think. After listening to the session, I think I will never face any difficulties, tackling any situation of periods. After coming home, I told my mom also about it and she too said that now she doesn't believe in myths any more.

Celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Maah-2021
Food is medicine, and the right kind of
relationship with food can make a positive impact on our health. Ahlcon
International School created that positive impact and celebrated Rashtriya
Poshan Maah during the month of September 2021 and spread awareness among
students to maintain the right kind of association between food and health. It
was further accelerated by various activities under Poshan Abhiyan (National
Nutrition Mission) which was launched by the Hon’ble Prime
Minister on 8th
March 2018.
Assemblies on Poshan Maah were
conducted by students in classes 6th, 7th and 8th
on virtual mode. They discussed about malnutrition, its impact on society and
value of healthy and balanced diet. They even discussed about some unknown
personalities like Chahat Anand who has started a campaign on feed a million
people and many more. As a part of celebration of Poshan Maah, every child was
encouraged to share a nutritious meal with at least one child from the
underprivileged sections of the society, living in their neighbourhood. This
helped the child to understand the nutritional levels in the society, and also
imbibed a sense of social responsibility, inclusion and volunteerism. Consistently
working for SDG 2 ‘Zero Hunger’ and SDG 3 ‘Good Health and Well-being’,
students took pledge that they never throw any food and help the needy. Every
human deserves to have a balanced food diet.
Students
were invigorated to participate in E-quiz to be organized by Govt. of India
through Mygov Portal focusing on malnutrition, nutrition awareness and
different types of foods of other states. The best part is all the teachers had
also participated in it.
On
every Wednesday in ‘Manthan Sessions’, students are taught to be compassionate
and empathetic towards others. But this time, under Poshan Maah-2021, we
introduced the topic nutrition and how it plays a vital role in our lives.
Students discussed why they make fuss over eating nutritious food and why it’s
necessary to avoid junk food.
The
whole process of celebrating Rashtriya Poshan Maah was an extremely indelible
and healthy journey for everyone who was being a part of it.
Special Parenting Session
initiated under Poshan Maah-2021 Education
is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world and parents
are our partners in it. Ahlcon International School- ‘A School with an SDG Soul’
firmly believes is this and contributes its endeavours to achieve Global Goals
of Sustainable Development. Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav and HM Middle Section, Ms. Sunita
Rajiv took initiative with Global Goal SDG 3 ‘Good Health and Well-being’
along with school children and their parents and to commemorate the true spirit
of Rashtriya POSHAN Maah and empower them with the knowledge regarding
nutrition. Principal sir addressed the
gathering by telling them his personal experiences what he is practicing in
daily life. He told how he stopped the use of ‘Single Use Plastic’ himself and
then eradicate it from school campus first before initiated the drive for
students. He advised students that
excess of everything is bad so a balance should be maintained in terms of diet
or a simple walk. Before travelling just check in advance the local vegetables
and fruits of that area. This way the junks can be avoided and consumption of
healthy food will keep us fit. HM Middle Section, Ms. Sunita
Rajiv commenced the session by showing the analysis of data gathered from
students in the ‘Manthan Session’. This survey will be used as the action plan
for the coming months. The saying is ‘A good breakfast fuels you up and get you
ready for the day’ but the students are neglecting somewhere this part of the
day. She poured light specifically on this and children are the reflection of
their homes. So if any of the parents are showing dismissal then we should
ponder upon this as it directly effects their children’s food habits. On the other hand, most of
them are not even conscious about consuming the balanced diet. Moreover, they
are cognizant if their nutrition is low, it will directly effect their
learning. Furthermore, she added that
working from home and online mode with regard to nutrition and its relationship
to physical and mental health and well-being has been affected. She advised
parents to inculcate the habit of cooking in their sons as well as daughters to
remain healthy always. She shared ‘Viruddha Ahara’ i.e. the wrong combinations
of food that should be avoided.
She requested parents to
follow SDG-17 collaboration and partnership with the school. She solicited
parents to share their wonderful family recipes in the assemblies ones every
month so that others can be motivated and improve the nutrition level in our
kids. *************************************************************** Culmination of SDG FEST 2021 To celebrate and applaud the vision of our great leaders and a resolve to add people and young

Climate Reality Session Report
On Monday, 28th June and 5th July 2021, HM Middle Section, Ms. Sunita Rajiv of Ahlcon International School took brilliant sessions on ‘Climate Reality Action’ for grade seven students of the middle section. She has been an adherent of ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ from a long time and a staunch Climate Reality Leader who has been working for climate education in schools. She believes that to guide students is a key to create a sustainable world around us and an excellent way to protect resources for future.
As amid the COVID-19 pandemic, schools are going online, it’s a duty of a school to create awareness among students about reality of the environment around the globe. Students were told about the environment crisis going on in the world like Global Warming, Wildfires, Pollution, Deforestation, Ozone Depletion, Loss of Biodiversity, etc.
Besides, students were told the solutions, exactly while remaining in home in this unprecedented time, how they can contribute to save the mother earth. Following are some solutions: -
a. Zero Waste- While going out take cloth bags instead of plastic bags, so that we can contribute less to landfills.
b. Save Electricity- Unplug the charger or related equipment while not in use. Second, the refrigerator and oven should not be kept close by as it consumes more energy to keep itself cool.
c. Save Water- Close the running taps when not in use.
It’s a fact that children always learn by observing their elders, but not what they are told. With these time-to-time sessions, we let them know how important this is for us and at the same time we care for their health, their future and for many generations to come. It’s a legacy that they need to carry further and always keep protecting mother earth from all odds.
‘Every single person on this earth has the power to change the world’- with this message HM Middle Section, Ms. Sunita Rajiv conclude the session.

on comprehensive development of students. Teachers provide resources and
constant feedbacks every now and then so students can achieve any challenging
task. In
the month of February 2021, our school came to the fore in collaboration with CBSE, to raise awareness among
students. ‘Road Safety Month’ was observed on the theme ‘Sadak
Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha’.
In
order to conduct some online events, ‘English Assessment of Speaking and
Listening’ (ASL) activities were designed in middle section for classes VI to
VIII. Some videos were shown in the morning assembly as resource material.
Students did extensive researches before conducting their given activities.
Class VIII were given a task to create ‘PowerPoint Presentation
on Road Signs and Safety Rules followed by Quiz’ on the given topic. They were
grouped together in number of five members each. The next step was to present
it in the class. The performances astonished the teachers the way students
created and presented their work. Before conducting quiz with other class
mates, they explained about ‘Road Safety’ by PowerPoint Presentations and
self-created videos and to reiterate, some used different online tools as well
like Kahoot, Quizizz, etc. to conduct quiz.
It is rightly said there are three responses to the piece
of design- ‘Yes’, ‘No’ and ‘Wow!’ Wow is the one that our students worked for.
This topic really needs all eyes and ears to make road safety a culture and our
students nailed it.

Road Safety- ‘Quiz Report’
Indian Union Minister for Road Transport- Mr. Nitin Gadkari stated, ‘I am confident that if our children grow up reading stories about road safety, the issue will be etched deep in their psyche and they will be encouraged to become responsible road users.
To accomplish this for our nation and future generation, Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar came to the fore in collaboration with CBSE, to raise awareness among students. ‘Road Safety Month’ was observed on the theme ‘Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha’. Some online activities have been planned to undertake and witness the occasion.
On 9th Feb 2021, Teachers of Middle Section participated in ‘My Govt. Road Safety Quiz’ contest. It was developed for the purpose of creating awareness regarding Road accidents, Traffic laws, emergency services, new reforms and safety all across the country. The quiz is aimed at making the roads and streets in India safer by raising cognizance about how to avoid accidents and injuries while on the road.
Through this interactive quiz, participants got the opportunity to assess their knowledge about Roads and Safety and at the same time, they conferred with certificates. HM Middle Section, Ms. Sunita Rajiv felt elated to see the enthusiastic participation of the teachers. It was her espousal and guidance that paved the path that helped teachers to take part in it.

Mesmerizing Saga of Bharat Bhraman
The Annual Show
To celebrate the unity in diversity of our nation and maintain the strength of the fabric of traditionally existing emotional bonds between the people of our country Ahlcon International School celebrated its Grand Annual Show with great pomp and prudence on Virtual Platform which went live on 5th and 6th February 2021. Surely it was a journey that has unflinchingly stupendous and has been carved to make a mark in the history of Ahlcon. This theme was an initiative announced by the honourable Prime Minister on 31st October 2015 for an enhanced understanding, bonding and integrity of India.
Right from the inception of the dream
seed to its complete blossom, the journey has been full of inexplicably
beautiful experiences whether it was researching the content, learning the art
of making the videos or weaving it into that seamless one-string entity.
Undoubtedly, there were moments of anxiety, sadness, technical problems, but
dedication, healthy competition and the desire to show the best and excel kept
the fire burning and everything, in the end, was a delectable dish which left
all with that lingering taste to remain in the hearts of all for forever. The research done showed there was so much to
exhibit but the challenge was how to do it in the limited time given.
The initial videos and the research
work were amazing. Everybody’s enthusiasm was at the zenith but when the ‘time
challenge’ was thrown it started becoming difficult. Students didn’t want to
reshoot, and always used the term ‘Ma’am technical glitches’ synonymous with
disinterest in redoing their work.
But there was no time for all these
excuses, so teachers caught hold of some very ardent and dutiful workers to
steer the ship further. The destination had to be reached without compromising
the quality and the quantity. So, the ship was refueled, and the journey
restarted with greater vigour. All the great minds took up the baton and
started putting their souls and heads. Inch by inch the momentum regained and
then there was no looking back. The expertise was clearly visible in every
class’ presentation. It was superb, just the best.
Finally, then the rich traditions,
culture, heritage, and values shared by all Indians were presented through a
magnificent presentation ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat’. Students took the
audience appalled by taking them for Bharat Bhraman and making each one enjoy
the magnanimity of culture and tradition of all the states of India amidst
great diversity. The string of valuable gems was put on display and everyone
could enjoy the entire tour through the amalgamated mode of transportation-
land water and air.
The Sufi music, ‘Pradeshik
Saptarang’-the Group Dance, Shloka recital, prayers for humanity through
classical dance and the saga of all the states depicted virtually, left the
audience spellbound.
On day one ( 5th Feb. 2021) Mr. Rabbi Ezekiel
Malekar graced the programme showcased by students of class 6th. On the second
day (6th Feb.2021) Ms. Munmun Ghosh and Rear Admiral Samir Saran Lal, were the
Chief Guests for class 7th and 8th respectively.
The inspiring words of the Chief
guests Mr. Rabbi Ezekiel Malekar, Ms. Munmun Ghosh and Rear Admiral Samir Saran
Lal were soulful and made the students take a promise to follow them for a
happy and successful life.
The annual report by Principal Mr
Sanjay Yadav made each one feel very proud of the initiatives taken and success
achieved in various fields even while the school campus was closed. It
reflected how each one’s cooperation and support to each other we could
successfully defeat the COVID-19 and emerge victorious.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Pandey, Director Ahlcon group
of schools, eminent dignitaries, and Headmistress Middle section Ahlcon
International school, Ms Sunita Rajiv appreciated the hard work of students as
well as teachers. They expressed their gratitude for the unflinching support
extended by the parents at each step to make this virtual Annual Show
memorable.
The glory of the indelible
presentation of the legend of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat’ will continue to
hold all strong and united forever.

The ISA Journey
(2020):
“Working as team and not as
individual, we aspire to make a difference.”
The ISA journey of AHLCON INTERNATIONAL
SCHOOL is a saga of exploration,
team -work, immense learning and achievement.
As I recall my experience
as an ISA coordinator of Ahlcon International School, Delhi, India; I found it,
a journey
filled with adventure and
an opportunity to help the students (Nursery - XII) become autonomous
learners, competent individuals and global citizens with
Indian values.
It started with a spark of light by designing intense-learning
activities along with collaborative activities. The school planned and executed seven different projects
which were titled as ‘TALESPIN AND TARANTELLA (In House Activity), ‘SAVE ANIMALS SAVE HUMANITY ’(In-House Activity),
KRAFTY
KRAFTS (Collaborative Activity), Global Peace Crusaders (Collaborative
Activity), Disaster Management- Aware and Prepare (In House Activity),“HAMINASTU”
(हमिनस्तु) -
THE POWER WITHIN YOU (In House Activity), SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION: SAY NO TO
PLASTIC (Collaborative Activity)
Each time, the ISA project is introduced it sparks and re-kindles the
hearts of learners, teachers and parent community giving way to new horizons of
teaching and learning process.
It is always a pleasure to work with teachers and students
of different classes with a deep sense of commitment and ownership,
leaving no stone unturned to carry the activities.
It has changed the perspective of teaching and learning while
grappling with a holistic and promising global approach.
The ISA journey was an enriching experience, giving us an invaluable
learning opportunity to collaborate and bridge a unique bond within school and aboard
(the partner schools) working as a team with a common vision and helping
students grow as leaders in global community. The learning outcome
of each activity conducted is unforgettable and immeasurable.
Thus successful completion of all the activities
planned throughout the year has brought international dimensions to our
curriculum, enabling us to flow towards the ocean of internationalism and
global citizenship.
On 22nd
Jan. 2021, British Council- North India, celebrated the hard work and
dedication of all teachers and students by awarding the school with IDS (International
Dimensions in School) Award…..I am honoured to receive this award as an ISA
coordinator of the school.

Science Session by Principal Sir
“Science is a way of thinking, much more that it is a body of knowledge.” On 17th October 2020, an enriching session was taken by our Principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav for class 8th students where he enlightened them about the broader meaning of Science. The session was attended by Ms. Sunita Rajiv, Science teachers and few other teachers from middle section teachers as well.
The thoughts shared were beyond just Physics and Science, but about how the living world works. He explained beautifully how when humans behave differently in different situations, they are labelled as “dual-faced” which is considered as a negative trait. Whereas in Science, unknown facts and answers are conveniently given the name “dual nature” and that’s how we accept and study them.
The topics of discussion ranged from ‘String theory’ to very basic life processes. Sir discussed that even though all the greatest scientists have all the necessary information about the famous E= mc 2 , the equation given by Einstein that expresses the equivalence of mass and energy, still why is it that we are unable to apply this to maximize the energy of every object or entity on earth? The answer was very beautifully explained that is it probably because the energy is spread in all directions.
Physic and Chemistry was also explained by a simple analogy of physical and chemical nature of humans. Physical nature refers to the aspect of appearance, whereas chemical nature refers to the thoughts, personality and behaviour.
The students were also sensitized about the judicious use of resources and technology. He explained how when the ‘need’ converts into ‘greed’, it can destroy the mankind.
Science is a process that takes us from confusion to understanding in a manner that’s precise, predictive and reliable. All the students and the teachers felt extremely grateful and empowered after the wonderful interaction with our principal sir.

Climate Reality: My Responsibility
-Sunita Rajiv
Having received the best of training from none other than the father of
Climate Reality Project, Mr. Al Gore ,10th of October was a red letter day in
my calendar when we had to contribute to the world wide campaign for saving our
climate.
My mentors, Dr.
Ashok Pandey who had led me on this path and Ms. Rekha who hand held us
everyday of our 6 day training, motivated us all to take up presentations on
the occasion of 24 Hours of Climate Reality.
Being the
Headmistress I wished to inspire my young students who had begun tasting the
joy of working for the SDGs, and were very dedicated to the cause of Climate
Action ,SDG13.In order to make the presentation more child friendly, I added 10
slides to the master presentation sent to us for the day. These slides listed
the actions ,children can take and change their lifestyle to bring the desired
change.
So, I organised 3 sessions of 40 minutes each for 6th,7th and
8th.Forty minutes is the attention span of children. Their parents were so
fascinated to know about the 24 Hours of Climate Reality that they sat along
with their wards to attend the same .The Social Media creative was posted on
Twitter and a Feedback form was created too.
The sessions went off very smoothly which were conducted on the MS TEAMS.I
am adept at taking training sessions and weaving the magic with the help of Al
Gore's presentation, it was easy and doable. I kept posting the links and
invites in our group created by Ms. Rekha and some of the co-travelers of
Climate Reality , did visit my sessions and gave a feedback too.
This is the essence of real education and if we , as educators are able to
kindle the spark in the hearts of our Global citizens then our work will earn
it’s worth ,and Climate Reality will write stories of success.
The feedback received
poured generous appreciation for the project and my young students shared their

I pray to the Almighty that
this project achieves what it has set out to.
We can and we will , make the world a better place and our earth will be

REPORT ON LITERARY WEEK
Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, observed four day long Literary cum book week festival from 25th July'17 to 28th July'17.These four days witnessed a chain of myriad activities and a melange of fringe events which tapped and nurtured the potential of the students. The aim of this stellar literary marathon was to enhance literary and reading skills in the students and infuse them with appreciation, assimilation and usage of English, Hindi, Sanskrit and German languages in their daily life.
With preparations in place, the literary week came to life with an invigorating assembly by the English department that showcased a bouquet of effervescent events. The play on Bronte sisters, titled ‘The Glorious Past to the Grey Present’ brought forth how the printed sheets came into existence and spotted light upon the woes of books, that have been shut into the closet of negligence. Poetry recitation on importance of books illuminated the entourage with the magic spell that books have. The character enactment show, Vibgyor Literati, emblazoned various literary characters in an attempt to initiate and inculcate a literary flavour in the students. Later in the day, the students came closer to the world of words through the flurry of activities based on English subject. The activities ranged from Vocabulary enhancement and Poem illustration, to Freeze a frame that required a depiction of students' favourite scene from any novel or drama. The eventful day was aptly constructed for the students that led to a fun filled and zesty kick-start of the literary week.
The second day was marked by a scintillating assembly by the Sanskrit and German department. The choir groups enthralled the audience with their mesmerizing renditions on 'Patriotism' in Sanskrit and 'vibrance of different colours' in German. The thought inspiring ad in Sanskrit on the conservation of environment left everyone abuzz with the contemplative reflections. Students and teachers were entranced by the incredible cultural extravaganza in the form of German traditional dance and the musical act on stationery items by the German students. An amalgamation of convivial activities, spanning from poster-making, book-mark making, travel advertisement making, collage making to postcard writing and character sketch writing, left students riveted to the bustling literary moments in the school. The events ensured the constant flow of brain fodder and the old cliché that ‘there’s something for everyone’ could not be more apt.
The third day embarked upon another literary expedition which was the inauguration ceremony of the book fair. Book fair is an integral part of the literary week as the school reiterates through it that the true knowledge and enlightenment can be found amidst pages of books only. The chief guest for the occasion was renowned Hindi author Mr. Devender Mewari. The Book Fair was one of the many quintessential things that produced a wave of exhilaration in the students. Following the inauguration ceremony was the assembly by the Hindi department and the programme commenced with the traditional lamp lighting by the chief guest and dignitaries, who graced the occasion with their esteemed presence. Principal Sir, Mr. Ashok Pandey, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of books. The ambience was enlivened with the exuberant assemblage of storytelling by the chief guest himself, who served the platter of stories complete with sounds, expressions, imagined animation and even garbing the role of the characters from the story. Creative and fun-filled activities like character sketch writing, composing poems and honing the art of critically commenting on the shown video, kept the students engrossed. The day was embellished with the activities that had a profound impact on the sprightful minds of the students.
The literary Odyssey was given a de rigueur farewell through the Valedictory function. The chief guest for the day was the eminent journalist, Mr. Urmilesh. The day was fruitful as it inspired the students to be avid readers and developed the love for books in them.
Thus, the literary week, bedecked with the activities and events symbolizing a cultural conglomerate, inculcated literary and reading skills in the students and lead to a holistic development of their personalities. The programme structure and content were put together in close consultation with the requisites of the Middle school students in order to ensure all the activities offered cross-curricular experiences to boost students’ informal and formal learning.

Report on Orientation Program
Class 6
Middle school is a transitional stage in a child’s life. It is a period of tremendous change and eventually effects all spheres of life may it be physical, emotional or educational. Parents fulfill a primary role in the lives of their children and a collective support of both the parents and teachers forms a prerequisite for them to deal with the anticipated changes. In the light of same, Ahlcon International School organized an Orientation program for class VI parents on 22nd April 2017.
The program included presentations in various fields, the first being ‘A Learning Kaleidoscope’ by the Section Incharge Ms. Dimple Puri in which she apprised the parents about the diverse practices adopted by teachers in the Middle Section to identify their talents and areas of interest. She also threw light on varied aspects of academics, the need of building up core competencies and parenting. She emphasized on the need of empowering the learners for self-exploration so as to become a responsible citizen with deep rooted ethos of Indian culture and traditions.
Assessment is an integral part of instruction, as it determines whether or not the goals of education are being achieved and to keep a track of the same our school follows a comprehensive assessment plan. The parents were updated about the same by Mr. Mayank Dugar, who also shared with them some important tips to manage exam stress and anxiety.
An amalgamation of scholastic and co-scholastic activities is the need of the hour. The purpose of co-curricular activities is to make the students fit for the future time and to develop a sense of competitive spirit, co-operation, leadership, diligence, punctuality, team-spirit as well as to provide a backdrop for the development of their creative talents. They were informed about various co-curricular activities by Ms. Ritika Kumar through ‘A road map to Holistic Development’. Ms. Namita Bhagat shared details about the code of conduct expected by the students in the Middle Section through her presentation ‘A Road Map to Success’.
Overall the session left an inspiring, empowering and stimulating effect on the audience that instigated the need of teachers and parents to be partners in the progress of the students.
